Alabama's Sarah Ashlee Barker Snags Preseason SEC Honors

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama women's basketball guard Sarah Ashlee Barker on Monday was named to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Preseason First Team for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Barker, a graduate student from Birmingham majoring in health and physical education, also earned First Team All-SEC honors last year as she played a crucial role in leading the Crimson Tide to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four years.

The former Spain Park High School standout started in all 33 games for the Tide last season and averaged 16.8 points per game, along with surpassing 1,000 career points during a win over Auburn.

She is the daughter of former Alabama quarterback Jay Barker and Amy Barker Rozell.

The Crimson Tide will tip off the 2024-25 season at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, when Columbus State comes to Tuscaloosa.
