ALEA Announces Arrest In Greene County Grocery Store Killing

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Green County Sheriff's Office and the State Bureau of Investigation says an arrest has been made in a murder in Clinton on Friday.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says the murder occurred at a grocery store located in the 12000 block of Alabama Highway 14, resulting in the death of Gerrick Jermine Adams, 27, of Clinton.

ALEA then said this prompted the arrest of 42-year-old Byron Ellis, also of Clinton.

Ellis now stands charged with first-degree murder and is being held in the Greene County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
