ALEA Expands Search For Person Of Interest In Perry County Murder Investigation
ALEA has expanded the search for a person of interest in a homicide investigation in Perry County

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has expanded the search for a person of interest in a homicide investigation in Perry County after a 68-year-old man was found dead in November in Marion.

SBI initially identified the victim as Jeffery Holifield, who was found dead in the 2000 block of Onrow Tubbs Road on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

As Patch previously reported, Anastassja “Anya” Cooper, 32, of Marion, was identified as a person of interest in the case and the search has since been expanded to a nationwide effort.
SBI officials are asking for the public’s help in locating Cooper — described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 216 pounds.

Investigators also said she may be traveling with a mixed-breed dog named “Banana.”
SBI is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Cooper for questioning and is expanding their search nationwide after she was recently seen in San Mateo, California.
Investigators also said Cooper has family connections in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Oregon.
ALEA says anyone who sees Cooper or has information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the State Bureau of Investigation at (334) 850-0910.
The investigation remains ongoing and no additional details have been released.
