In all, investigators found five people to have been injured, with one initially listed in critical condition.
"At this time it is believed that all the victims will recover," Kennedy said. "The incident occurred outside in a common area, and not inside a residence ... It was determined that a suspect opened fire on a group of individuals during an altercation."

He also addressed concerns after word first spread that there had been a shooting at DCH Regional Medical Center.
"There were rumors last night that a shooting had occurred at DCH, but that is untrue, and was probably due to the temporary confusion as so many shooting victims arriving at the hospital at the same time," Kennedy said.
Kennedy then said the investigation remains ongoing, as police seek witnesses and persons of interest.
