Allegra Family Clinic Announces Grand Opening In Northport
Northport's newest clinic held a soft opening in June and plans to celebrate the community's newest health care offering on Sept. 10.

NORTHPORT, AL. — A new family clinic in Northport will celebrate its grand opening later this month. Allegra Family Clinic, located at 1116 Mitt Lary Road, held a soft opening in June and is now prepared to welcome the community as its newest health care offering.
The grand opening will be held at the clinic Thursday, Sept. 10 at 5 p.m.
The 2,604-square-foot practice, which occupies a large portion of the property that includes a new Sprint Mart, is owned by Dr. Steven Coppock, Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Amy Shirley, Joe Shirley and Lori Jones.

Jones serves as the clinic's director of operations and said the new practice will focus on primary care, urgent care, weight loss and IV hydration therapy. She also said the goal is to return family medicine to where it once was, with primary care physicians seeing patients for their range of needs, instead of just being a place for a yearly check-up.
"The whole upstairs [of the new practice] is the infusion suite and it's like a spa," Jones told Patch on Wednesday. "That's where we will have weight loss food products."

Jones said Allegra Family Clinic is currently sourcing the food it sells from Birmingham, but hopes to one day have weight loss products bearing the clinic's name.
"We just wanted to offer weight loss because people go to weight loss doctors and not their primary physician," she said. " We think it's a better set up."
Jones told Patch that several physicians will make rounds at the clinic, including Dr. Noah Lott, Dr. Tiffanie McGuire and Dr. Amanda Shaw. In addition to Amy Shirley, Allegra Family Clinic also has three other nurse practitioners: Annabeth Spence, Amy Bigham and Tonya Shanahan.
Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the clinic has had to adapt along with the rest of the industry to promote safety for both patients and staff.
"We do all of our COVID-19 testing and visits from their car unless they need an infusion," Jones said.
