Commercial Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Southbound Lanes Of I-59 In Greene County

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A two-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle Tuesday morning has shut down all southbound lanes of Interstate 59 in Greene County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said the crash occurred at approximately 8:52 a.m. near the 37 mile marker.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are currently on scene investigating the crash.

Officials said all southbound lanes will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while the investigation and roadway clearance continue.

No additional information, including whether there were injuries, was immediately available Tuesday morning.
