Arrest Made After Winfield Church Vandalized Over The Weekend

Police in Winfield have announced an arrest following the vandalism of a local church Sunday morning.

WINFIELD, AL — Police in Winfield have announced an arrest following the vandalism of a local church Sunday morning.

While the suspect has not been publicly identified, the Winfield Police Department says when officers arrived at Winfield City Family Church on Alabama Highway 159 Sunday morning, they found that the church had been burglarized and extensive damage caused.

What's more WPD said one room of the church was set on fire, which failed to spread or cause much additional damage apart from the vandalism.

An arrest when then made a short time after the initial report came in and no additional details have been provided.

The case is being investigated by the 25th Circuit District Attorney’s Office and the Alabama State Fire Marshall’s Office.
