Bama Bullies Mississippi State For 30-6 Homecoming Win
The No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide made easy work of the visiting No. 24 Mississippi State Bulldogs for Homecoming Saturday

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The weather was perfect for Homecoming football at The Capstone on Saturday and the No. 6 Crimson Tide did not disappoint in a 30-6 win over SEC West foes Mississippi State in front of a packed house at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The Bulldogs started off the first half receiving the opening kickoff, before being held to three-and-out on its first series with the football. The Bulldog defense held up though once the ball was given to reigning Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young and the Tide offense, forcing a punt on Alabama's opening drive of the game.

The Tide's first score of the game came with 3:57 left to go in the first quarter, as Young connected with JoJo Earle on a 31-yard touchdown strike.
Following a shoulder injury that briefly sidelined him, junior running back Jahmyr Gibbs gave the Tide a two-score lead with 11:38 left in the second quarter on a 19-yard run.

Tide kicker Will Reichard would get Alabama its last points of the first half by way of a 50-yard field goal with 2:54 left before going into the locker room.
It would be all Alabama in the second half, before Mississippi State grabbed its first score of the game in the final seconds — a touchdown that marked the Bulldogs' first touchdown against the Tide in Tuscaloosa since 2014.
The win bring's Alabama's all-time record against Mississippi State to 87-17-3, while also extending the Tide's win-streak over the Bulldogs to 15 games.
The Tide (7-1, 4-1 SEC) will have a bye week next Saturday, followed by a trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Nov. 4 to take on the LSU Tigers.
