Bibb County To Cast Ballots In Senate Special Election Tuesday
Voters in Bibb County are set to take to the polls Tuesday to decided who will be the next state senator to represent Senate District 14

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Voters in Bibb County, along with neighbors in Shelby and Chilton counties, will take to the polls Tuesday to cast ballots in the special general election for Alabama Senate District 14.
The election will see Republican April Weaver, who won a three-person primary in March to secure the GOP nod on the ticket, face off against Democrat Virginia Applebaum. A political newcomer who has never held elected office, Applebaum was uncontested for the Democratic nomination.
The winner will fill the senate seat left vacant by Republican Cam Ward of Alabaster, who was appointed director of the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles by Gov. Kay Ivey.
