Birmingham Men Sought For Tuscaloosa Vehicle Burglaries
The Tuscaloosa Police Department has named two suspects in a string of nearly two-dozen vehicle burglaries at local hotels this month.
TUSCALOOSA, AL. — Two Birmingham men have been named as suspects in a string of numerous vehicle burglaries in the parking lots of several Tuscaloosa hotels earlier this month.
The Tuscaloosa Police Department on Tuesday said its Criminal Investigations Division has obtained warrants to charge 22-year-old Ro’daryus Mitchell with 18 felony counts and 18-year-old Jae’Vontea Taylorwith with 22 felony counts of breaking into vehicles

The two men are also suspected of stealing guns out of vehicles parked at hotels across the state and TPD said they had not yet been taken into custody as of Tuesday morning.
The investigation was prompted after reports of car break-ins the weekend of Oct. 10-11, with guns stolen out of vehicles parked at hotels along Jack Warner Parkway, Harper Lee Drive and Veterans Memorial Parkway.

TPD also said the ongoing investigation has been conducted with the assistance of the Huntsville, Cullman, Decatur and Oxford police departments. Once taken into custody, both men could face further charges in each of those jurisdictions.
