BROOKWOOD, AL — The Tuscaloosa County School System on Monday announced that Brookwood Middle School has been named a "School of Excellence" by the A+ College Ready Middle School Training and Incentive Program.

TCSS said the honor was presented for the growth of the school's eighth grade class's scores on the PSAT 8/9 exam, which was administered during the spring semester.

The schools that earn the distinction must improve their PSAT score by 50 points over one year of participation in the program.

Brookwood Middle School's eighth grade class improved its overall score by 66 points.
