TUSCALOOSA, AL — A psychiatrist at Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa is out on bond after being charged with possession of child pornography.

Tuscaloosa Patch has confirmed through county jail records and official sources that Dr. Walter Joseph Crook, 73, was booked Thursday on five counts of possession of child pornography and bonded out shortly thereafter.

Dr. Crook's WebMD profile cites his place of primary employment as Bryce Hospital and says he has "42 years of experience."

He is a 1984 graduate of the University of South Alabama Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine.
