2. A Tuscaloosa County Circuit Court judge voided the results of the March 2 District 7 Tuscaloosa City Council election due to winning candidate Cassius Lanier not being eligible to run at the time. The race will now go on to a special election. (More on Patch)

- The University of Alabama will hold spring commencement exercises today and will limit the number of people at each event, while ensuring physical distancing guidelines. The ceremony will be at 3:30 p.m.

- The City of Tuscaloosa says the District 7 City Council seat will be vacant on May 17 and the City Council will set a date for a special election in accordance with state law.

- The Gordo Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating Khilan Bell. Khilan Bell — a 3-year-old black male that was last seen on April 29, 2021 in the area of 6th Street NW at 12:45 pm in Gordo.

- A federal judge sentenced a Tuscaloosa man for being a felon in possession of a machine gun. Devontay Jerrod Hutt, 25, was sentenced to 72 months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm and 72 months in prison for possessing a machine gun.

- A Tuscaloosa postal clerk was indicted on federal embezzlement charges after $24,000 went missing (More)
