Central High Coach And Former Bama Standout To Kick Off Free Football Camp Friday

TUSCALOOSA, AL — First-year Central High School football coach Demario Pippen and former Crimson Tide and NFL standout Le'Ron McClain will host a free football camp beginning Friday evening.

Dubbed the "Camp of Champions," camp participants will be taught the fundamentals of the game and participate in position-specific training, as well as one-on-one and two-on-two competitions.

The two-day camp, from July 7-8, is for students ages 7-17 years old in the Tuscaloosa City Schools Western Cluster School Zone. While pre-registration has already closed, Pippen told Patch that there will be a few spots available for walk-ups.

Participants are asked arrive 10 minutes prior to the camp's end time each day for pick-up.

Here's a breakdown of each day:

Friday, July 7

• Registration from 4 p.m. until 4:45 p.m.
• 5 p.m.: Introduction of Coach Pippen and the CHS Falcons football staff
• Guest Speakers
• Overview of Champions Camp
• Tour of CHS football facilities
• Football on Falcon Field

Saturday, July 8, 2023: All-Star Camp

• Event Time: 8 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
• Fundamentals training
• Position specific training
• 1v1 and 2v2 competitions
