Charlotte Hornets Select Alabama's Brandon Miller No. 2 Overall In NBA Draft

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama freshman basketball standout Brandon Miller was selected with the second overall pick in Thursday night's 2023 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets.

A native of Antioch, Tennessee and the son of a former Crimson Tide football player, Miller appeared in 37 games during his lone season in Tuscaloosa, along with leading the nation's freshmen in scoring with 18.8 points per game.

Miller also notched 8.2 total rebounds a game as he led the Tide to a regular season SEC title and then a SEC Tournament championship.

Miller went on to become the first SEC player to win SEC Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Tournament MVP in the same season. He also now ranks second in program history for the most three-pointers made in a single season.
