Chicken Waste Truck Spills On Lurleen Wallace Blvd.; Delays Expected

Here's the latest after a chicken truck apparently lost its load near the Lurleen Wallace bridge in Tuscaloosa.

TUSCALOOSA, AL —The Tuscaloosa Police Department confirms that it began receiving calls Tuesday morning concerning a large quantity of raw chicken parts in the road in the southbound lane of Lurleen Wallace Boulevard near University Boulevard.

The calls began to come in just after 5 a.m., in addition to independent reports received by Patch, as some reported seeing vehicles sliding in the mess. ALDOT confirmed the spill was the result of a chicken waste truck spilling onto the business roadway.
