TUSCALOOSA, AL — A commercial vehicle fire has forced the closure of the northbound lanes of Interstate 59 in Tuscaloosa County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says the fire was reported at approximately 2:40 p.m. Thursday in the vicinity of Exit 100 near Lake View.

As of the publication of this story, all northbound lanes remain blocked and authorities have not provided an estimated time for the roadway to reopen.
Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are on the scene investigating the incident and monitoring traffic.
