"We had around 20,000 people last year who came during the festival and we know they will appreciate being able to get around and so will the people who use that park frequently," said Kentuck Art Center Deputy Director Exa Skinner.
District 1 Commissioner Stan Acker, who seconded the motion made by Murray, said the City of Northport is handling prep work on the walking track.

Northport City Engineer Tera Tubbs praised the partnership with the county, as the two governmental bodies have collaborated on a range of plans for the park.
"Kentuck is such an important thing and the county is willing to take ownership, as well, so we are excited about that," she told Patch on Wednesday. "There are several other projects we have worked with them on and we're just thankful for their support."
