County Commission To Consider $8K Donation For Northside Basketball

The Tuscaloosa County Commission on Wednesday is set to consider a donation of $8,000 for the boys and girls basketball programs at NHS.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa County Commission on Wednesday will consider a modest, but surely appreciated donation of $8,000 for the boys and girls basketball programs at Northside High School.

District 1 Commissioner Stan Acker, who represents the Samantha area on the County Commission, is set to request Commission approval for the community development funds, which will then be used for equipment, uniforms, safety mats and other gear for both the varsity and JV programs.

The agenda for Wednesday is expected to be a light one in terms of contentious measures, but here's some of the other agenda items we'll be watching, along with the full agenda for the meeting.

  • District 2 Commissioner Jerry Tingle will request Commission approval for Public Works to install "Do Not Litter" signs on Woodland Lake Road. Fines for those caught littering will also be discussed.
  • District 4 Commissioner Reginald Murray is expected to discuss the Coker Water Authority and the Nubbins Road project.
