County To Honor Memory Of Service Members Killed In Kabul Attack

Tuscaloosa County officials plan to honor those killed in the Aug. 26 attack, which will be part of its bigger Veterans Day observances.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — As part of its observance of Veterans Day, Tuscaloosa County officials will also hold a special memorial event to honor the lives of the 13 United States service members killed in an attack in Kabul, Afghanistan in August.

The memorial will be open for the public to attend and will take place outside of the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m.

The featured speaker for the event will retired Marine Corps Brigadier General Jerry C. McAbee.

In the event of heavy rain, the service will be held at the County Annex Auditorium, which is located at 2501 7th Street.

The county's annual observance of Veterans Day will take place the following day on Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park.
