Crimson Tide Stars Rack Up Hardware At College Football Awards

Five University of Alabama football stars took home individual awards Thursday during the 30th annual Home Depot College Football Awards.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The University of Alabama's athletic department is going to need a bigger trophy case. During the 30th annual Home Depot College Football Awards, the Crimson Tide saw five of its gridiron stars receive individual honors following a historic undefeated regular season and SEC title win.

Here's a look at the awards presented to Alabama players:

  • DeVonta Smith - Maxwell Award, awarded to best overall college football player in the nation; Biletnikoff Award for most outstanding receiver; Walter Camp Player of the Year, awarded by the Walter Camp Football Foundation to nation's top player.
  • Mac Jones - Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award, given to the nation's top quarterback.
  • Najee Harris - Doak Walker Award, given to nation's top running back.
  • Alex Leatherwood - Outland Trophy, awarded to nation's top offensive lineman.
  • Landon Dickerson - Rimington Trophy, given to the best center in college football.

Alabama (12-0) and its slew of award-winners will take the field against Ohio State (7-0) on Monday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. local time in Miami for the College Football National Championship Game. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
