DCH Health System said Myers will be tasked with focusing on the growth of the system’s outpatient and ancillary services, along with supporting partnership efforts in communities DCH serves.

Myers currently works as the vice president of ancillary operations and chief innovation officer at Augusta University Health, where she was recently named one of the top Chief Innovation Officers in the United States by Becker’s Healthcare.

It's worth noting that Augusta University Health is also where new DCH Health System Chief Executive Officer Katrina Keefer served as CEO before making the recent move to Tuscaloosa.

“I am confident Mallary’s leadership will be a tremendous asset to DCH,” Keefer said. “Mallary’s track record of success speaks for itself, and her skills will complement our existing team with practical experience that will help us accelerate change.”

DCH pointed out that during her time in Augusta, Myers helped lead COVID-19 response efforts, including operationalizing a statewide testing strategy and a mass vaccination plan. She was also credited with being instrumental in securing nearly $6 million in grants and federal appropriations funding.

What's more, Myers oversaw operational process improvement plans that resulted $6 million in annual cost savings for the Georgia health care provider.

Myers also led similar initiatives at Baptist Health System in Montgomery, where she served the vice president of operational improvement and innovation and previously as the chief nursing information officer prior to her time in Augusta.

Myers first embarked on her health care career as an oncology nurse, going on to earn a master’s degree from Aspen University and a doctorate from Vanderbilt University, both in nursing and health system leadership.
