DCH, PARA To Host Free Health Fair Saturday At Snow Hinton Park

DCH and PARA will host a free community health fair Saturday, April 15, at Snow Hinton Park.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — DCH Health System and Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority (PARA) will host a free community health fair Saturday, April 15, at Snow Hinton Park.

From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., DCH and other community vendors will be on-site offering products and services to improve health and wellness through education and screenings.

There will also be food trucks and a kid's play area.

“DCH’s mission is to serve to improve the health of our patients and community,” DCH Health System President and CEO Katrina Keefer said. “We are excited to partner with PARA to host a family-friendly event that is consistent with our mission and promises to be both fun and educational."

PARA interim executive director Mike Crady said DCH and PARA share a common goal of improving health and well-being in the community.

"With 33 well-maintained parks, PARA has a space near you where you can get outside, walk, play, and enjoy being more physically fit and active," Crady said.

Here's a schedule for the health fair:

  • 10 a.m. – DCH Community Health Fair Begins
  • 10:30 a.m. – CEO Welcome (Main Tent Stage)
  • 11 a.m. – Physician Panel (Main Tent Stage)
  • 12 p.m. – Healthy Cooking Demonstration (Sequoia Shelter)
  • 1 p.m. – High and Low Impact Aerobics (Main Tent Stage, sponsored by PARA)
