TUSCALOOSA, AL. - A virtual job fair for DCH Health System has already seen dozens of participants since it kicked off Thursday, with two more days available for those interested in a career in health care. Hosted by West Alabama Works, the jobs available each come with signing bonuses ranging from $250 to $10,000.

Tara Bullock, the communications and marketing coordinator for the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, told Patch the virtual job fair currently has 60 candidates — a number that's expected to grow over the weekend.

"Hopefully, we will have more over the weekend," she said. "That's how it played out for our first virtual event with DCH earlier this summer."

West Alabama Works Executive Director Donny Jones also told Patch that DCH Health System has been instrumental in its care and service to the community during the fight against COVID-19, but underscored the high demand and ongoing need for the range of positions marketed at the job fair.

"They need more registered nurses and entry-level staff to help," he said. "Health care is a skilled, in-demand industry with opportunities for growth. DCH will even help pay for you to go back to school, so this is a great time to start a career with them."
