Decorated TCHS Athletic Director Leaving For New Job At Northridge High

TCHS Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Dominic Ingram is switching school systems to become an assistant principal at Northridge

NORTHPORT, AL — Tuscaloosa County High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Dominic Ingram is switching school systems to become an assistant principal at Northridge High School.

Ingram has served the Tuscaloosa County School System as an assistant principal and athletic director at TCHS since July 2023 after holding the same dual role at Echols Middle School for two years.

During that time, TCHS athletic programs in many sports and reached several major milestones, recently winning 7A state titles in both baseball and boy's basketball, while finishing as 7A runner-up in softball in 2025.

Before becoming an administrator, Ingram spent five years as a social studies teacher at Echols, where he also coached multiple sports.

A native of Leighton and a graduate of Colbert County High School, Ingram earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education-social science from the University of Alabama in 2015.

He later completed a master's degree in instructional leadership from the University of West Alabama in 2020 and earned a doctorate in educational administration (P-12) from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2024.

In December 2024, Ingram also earned national certification as a certified athletic administrator through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, a credential recognizing professional achievement and leadership in school athletics.

He went on to become a certified master athletic administrator this past March.

Prior to joining the county school system, Ingram worked with the University of Alabama's Intramural Sports program for more than three years, first as a supervisor, event assistant and sports official before becoming a program assistant.

In those roles, he helped oversee intramural operations, student official training and scheduling.

His previous experience also includes serving as an Upward Bound Summer Component program assistant at Northwest-Shoals Community College in 2013 and 2014 and as a summer camp behavioral aide with Riverbend Center for Mental Health in 2012.
