Drinkard Promoted To Principal At Holt High School
The Tuscaloosa County Board of Education has appointed Carmen Drinkard as the new principal of Holt High School

HOLT, AL — The Tuscaloosa County Board of Education earlier this month appointed Carmen Drinkard as the new principal of Holt High School.

Drinkard previously served as assistant principal at Holt High School after relocating to Alabama from Texas.

She brings with her more than a decade of experience in education, including service as a high school science teacher, dual-credit English and history instructor, assistant principal and dean of an Early College High School program.
Originally from West Texas, Drinkard says she graduated from a small border-town high school before earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Sul Ross State University in 2009.

She later completed a Master of Education degree in 2014 and a Master of Arts degree in 2017. She has also pursued a doctorate in educational leadership through Texas A&M University.
Drinkard moved to Alabama with her three children to be closer to family and has spent the last several years working with students, teachers and families as assistant principal at Holt High.
As principal, she will now oversee the school’s day-to-day operations, academic programs and student achievement efforts while building on initiatives already underway at the school.
