Driver Injured, HAZMAT On Scene After Truck Crash On Skyland Boulevard

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department says it has closed a stretch of Skyland Boulevard between Hargrove Road East and the interstate due to a commercial vehicle wreck.

TPD an 18-wheeler overturned while exiting the interstate, which also resulted in the temporary closure of the exit ramp from the northbound lanes of the interstate.

The driver of the vehicle was also hospitalized with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Additionally, Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue has sent its HAZMAT team to the scene to clean up spilled fuel.
