Druid City Brewing Co. To Host BBQ Sides Competition

Think your sides have what it takes to win the big prize? The brewery is set to host the competition on July 30 at 6 p.m.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — While it's normally the meat that gets all the attention when the grills fire up, it will be the sides that will take center stage as part of Druid City Brewing Company's "Sides Quest" competition on July 30 at 6 p.m.

Druid City Brewing Co. owner Bo Hicks said the brewery will provide the BBQ, while competitors will enter their favorite sides. The pork will be provided by Piggly Wiggly, which regularly supports Druid City Brewing's fundraising efforts.

The cost to enter will be $10, while patrons can pay $5 to sample the sides and enjoy BBQ.

Cash prizes and trophies will be presented in each division.

Those planning to enter the competition are asked to email us at taproom@druidbrewing.com or visit the brewery.

Divisions include: Beans, potato salad, slaw and miscellaneous.

Judges for the competition will be Scott Holmes, Greg Hyatt, Joe Bonner and Jason Spikes.
