Eutaw Man Charged, Second Suspect Sought Following Tuscaloosa Apartment Shooting

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says one suspect has been arrested and another is being sought following a shooting last week.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says one suspect has been arrested and another is being sought following a shooting last week at Bent Tree Apartments.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multi-agency unit, told local media Wednesday afternoon that Eutaw native Amyas Montel Mobley was arrested Monday and charged with attempted murder. He has since been released from the Tuscaloosa County Jail after his bond was set at $60,000.

The offenses stem from a shooting on May 5 that left one person with serious injuries, although the victim is expected to recover.

Kennedy explained the victim and Mobley had a history of past disagreements and altercations.

He also said a second suspect was seen in the vehicle with Mobley and has yet to be located.
