TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Police are investigating the death of a female pedestrian they believe was struck by a vehicle sometime Monday morning.

TPD confirmed to Patch that a passerby called 911 at 1:13 a.m. to report that someone was lying in the roadway on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Short 16th Street.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the arrival of first responders.

TPD believes she was struck by a vehicle and is requesting that any potential witnesses call (205) 349-2121.

TPD's Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the death and Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard from 15th Street to Dragons Lane was closed from 1:21 a.m. to 5:21 a.m.
