Firefighters Respond To Blaze At Tuscaloosa Daycare Center

The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire and there were no injuries as a result of the Thursday morning blaze.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue says an unoccupied building caught fire in the early morning hours Thursday, but was quickly contained.

TFR spokesperson Holly Whigham told Patch the call of the structure fire came in at approximately 5 a.m. at a daycare facility located at 13242 Highway 69 South.

She then said six TFR trucks responded, along with assistance from the Englewood Hulls Volunteer Fire Department. Once on the scene, responders noticed heavy smoke and flames, but quickly had the fire under control.

Whigham said there were no injuries as a result of the fire, the cause of which remains under investigation.
