UWA Receiver, Former Fayette Standout Earns First Team All-GSC Preseason Honors

TUSCALOOSA, AL — University of West Alabama senior wide receiver Darius Nalls was the only standout for the Tigers named to the All-Gulf South Conference preseason first team.

The former standout at Fayette High School for coach Lance Tucker was joined by teammates Davonchae Bryant, Jamal Ellis, Shamar Lewis, Trevon Stanford and Kel Williamson the All-GSC preseason second team.

Nalls was a second-team All-GSC selection last season after leading the Tigers in both total receptions (40) and touchdowns (6). During the 2022 season, he logged 499 yards through the air on his way to averaging over 12 yards a catch.

A finance major, Nalls is the son of Derrell Nalls and Angel Henry.

The 2023 season kicks off with the Tigers hosting No. 5 Angelo State on Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. at Tiger Stadium in Livingston.
