Former TCHS Standout Karlie Beth Beasley Tosses No-Hitter For Shelton State

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Former Tuscaloosa County High softball standout Karlie Beth Beasley delivered a dominant performance in the circle Thursday, tossing an unassisted no-hitter to lead Shelton State Community College to a 5-0 win over Southern Union.

The freshman from Northport was nearly untouchable across seven innings, striking out 15 batters while allowing no hits and no runs in the victory on her way to finishing with a perfect line in the box score apart from two runners reaching on errors.

The standout effort capped an already strong season for Beasley, who has emerged as one of Shelton State’s most reliable arms.

Through 11 appearances and 10 starts for the Bucs, the right-hander owns a 5-5 record with a 2.31 ERA over 69.2 innings pitched.

She has struck out 85 batters on the season while posting a 1.03 WHIP.

The former Tuscaloosa County standout has also demonstrated durability this season, recording nine complete games and two shutouts, further cementing her role as a key piece of Shelton State’s pitching staff.

Beasley and Shelton State (14-10, 2-4) will look to carry that momentum forward when the Bucs return to action Saturday at Southern Union.
