Former Tide QB Tagovailoa Named Starter For Dolphins: Report
Former Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa took his first NFL snaps over the weekend and will soon start his first NFL game.

MIAMI, FL. — It appears to finally be "Tua Time" in Miami.
According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday, the Miami Dolphins have named fifth overall pick Tua Tagovailoa as the team's starter at quarterback for its Nov. 1 matchup at home against the Los Angeles Rams.

Tagovailoa saw the first NFL snaps of his rookie season near the end of Sunday's 24-0 win over the winless New York Jets and now it seems that Dolphins coach Brian Flores is ready to hand the ball over to the highly-touted prospect out of Alabama.
In Sunday's game against the Jets, Tagovailoa played five snaps, going 2-for-2 for 9 yards.

A native of Hawaii who played high school football in Honolulu, Tagovailoa completed nearly 70% of his passes over three years at the Capstone, amassing 7,442 yards and 87 passing touchdowns, with only 11 career interceptions.
The left-hander also came off the bench to engineer one of the most memorable comebacks in Crimson Tide history in the second half of the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship game against Georgia, where Tagovailoa connected with DeVonta Smith on a 41-yard touchdown pass in overtime to win the game.
After winning the 2018 Maxwell Award, being named an All-American and leading the Tide to another national title game appearance, eventually losing to Clemson, Tagovailoa would see his junior year at Alabama cut short when he suffered a dislocated right hip and posterior wall fracture against Mississippi State. His recovery was then widely-publicized and did little to impact his draft status ahead of his rookie season.
Tagovailoa's expected NFL debut is slated for noon on Nov. 1 against the Los Angeles Rams, with the game set for broadcast on Fox Sports.
