"It's an enormous honor to just be on the College Football Hall of Fame ballot considering more than 5.62 million people have played college football and only 1,074 players have been inducted," NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell said. "The Hall's requirement of being a First-Team All-American creates a much smaller pool of about 1,500 individuals who are even eligible. Being in today's elite group means an individual is truly among the greatest to have ever played the game, and we look forward to announcing the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame Class early next year."

A native of Town Creek, Alabama, Langham played high school football at Hazelwood High, before going on to play for Alabama from 1990-93. This included being a crucial member of the 1992 national championship team under head coach Gene Stallings.

In 1993, as a junior, he was presented the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back and was a first team All-American.

Langham, 50, was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the ninth overall pick in the first round of the 1994 NFL Draft. He would go on to play seven NFL seasons for the Browns, Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers and the New England Patriots.

The National Football Foundation says the announcement of the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame Class will be made in early 2024.
