Former West Alabama Pitcher Picked Up By Cincinnati Reds

Former UWA pitcher Steffon Moore has signed with the Cincinnati Reds organization.

LIVINGSTON, AL — Former University of West Alabama (UWA) pitcher Steffon Moore has signed with the Cincinnati Reds organization after the club purchased his contract over the weekend.

Moore, a left-handed pitcher from West Point, Mississippi, played for the Tigers during the 2018 season, appeared in 13 games and logged 45 innings.

During his time in Livingston, Moore struck out 76 batters while holding opponents to a .185 batting average.

Following his standout season for the Tigers, Moore was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 26th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft.

Since entering professional baseball, Moore has spent time in the minor leagues and with several professional leagues around the world.

Over his minor league career, he has recorded 134 strikeouts in 96.1 innings pitched.

Prior to joining the Reds organization, Moore pitched for the Kansas Monarchs.
