Gomez, Spiller Named To Alabama Retail Association Board Of Directors

Two respected Tuscaloosa-area business leaders are set for two-year terms on the Board of Directors for the Alabama Retail Association.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa-area business owner Jheovanny Gomez has been appointed to his first term on the Alabama Retail Association's Board of Directors, where he will join fellow business owner Shane Spiller, who was reappointed to the board earlier this month.

Founded in 1943, the Alabama Retail Association represents retailers and works to promote the retail sector for the state in Montgomery and Washington, D.C.

Gomez is the co-owner of Jalapeños Mexican Grill, with its locations in Tuscaloosa, Northport and Cottondale. His two-year term on the board began Jan. 1.

The distinction is just the most recent for Gomez, who was inducted into the Tuscaloosa County Civic Hall of Fame last year.

Spiller owns Spiller Furniture & Mattress, which operates in 11 cities across west Alabama, including Tuscaloosa and Northport.

Spiller saw his business named Alabama Retailer of the Year by the industry group in 2015.
