Grand Opening For Bowers Park Pickleball Courts Set For Later This Month
The City of Tuscaloosa will officially open its newest pickleball facility later this month

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The City of Tuscaloosa and the Tuscaloosa Park & Recreation Authority (PARA) will officially open the area's newest pickleball facility later this month with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Bowers Park.

Officials are inviting the public to attend the ceremony on March 23 at 11 a.m.

The new $3.76 million complex features 19 total courts, including three covered courts.
Work began on the project in April 2025.

Following the ribbon cutting later this month, attendees are encouraged to bring their paddles and help break in the new courts during open play.
PARA also operates pickleball courts at the Faucett Brother Activity Center, the Leroy McAbee Sr. Activity Center, the Mary Ann Phelps Activity Center and Kentuck Park.
