Greene Tapped To Lead City Of Tuscaloosa's Public Works Department

Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox on Tuesday announced the appointment of Selvin Greene to be the city's next executive director of Public Works.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox on Tuesday announced the appointment of Selvin Greene to be the city's next executive director of Public Works.

“Selvin has been with the City since 2013 serving in three different roles," Maddox said in a press release. "His dedication to Tuscaloosa is apparent and I’m confident that he will do well in this new role.”

Greene has served as the director of infrastructure for the City of Tuscaloosa since August of 2016 and prior to that served as the assistant director of the Tuscaloosa Department of Transportation.

He also worked for the city as a transportation engineer.

Apart from his most recent work with the City of Tuscaloosa, Greene has served in a range of community transportation support roles in both the public and private sector, including with the State of Alabama Transportation Department.

Greene's appointment is effective immediately.
