Hale County Man Charged After Multi-Agency Raid; Marijuana Grow Tent Found

GALLION, AL — A Gallion man was arrested last week following the execution of a search warrant by multiple law enforcement agencies in Hale County.

The Hale County Sheriff’s Office said Monday it was assisted by different agencies when it carried out the search warrant around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, at a residence in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 69 in Gallion.

Greensboro Police Department, Demopolis Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also participated in the execution of the search warrant.
HCSO says Harvell Johnson, 59, was taken into custody at the scene and charged with being a person forbidden from possessing a firearm.

Investigators also reported discovering an indoor marijuana grow tent inside the residence. That aspect of the case remains under investigation.
He was transported to the Hale County Jail, where he was held on a $15,000 bond.
Authorities said the case is being reviewed for possible federal prosecution by the ATF and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
