Hillcrest's Fincher Receives Burger King Foundation Scholarship
GPS Hospitality announced that Hillcrest High senior Bailey Fincher is one of 213 students from 13 states to receive the scholarship.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — GPS Hospitality on Tuesday announced that Hillcrest High senior Bailey Fincher is one of 213 students from 13 states to receive a $1,000 Burger King Foundation scholarship.

“It means so much to me to have been chosen for the Burger King Scholars Award," Fincher said in a statement. "Receiving this award will help me pay for books and tuition that will help me study in the field of pre-med. I hope to become an Anesthesiologist. This field touches my heart as one of my good friends lost his life to during complications with Anesthesia during a heart surgery. I want to make a difference in people’s lives and this scholarship will help me along this journey.”

The Atlanta-based hospitality group manages over 400 Burger King locations, with the Burger King Foundation awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors based on their grade point average and the impact the applicants have on their schools and communities through volunteerism and work experience.
Since 2000, the program has awarded nearly $55 million in scholarships.
