Historic Tuscaloosa Plans Final Installment Of Summer Lecture Series
Historic Tuscaloosa is gearing up to host the final installment of its lecture series, which will focus on the history of Queen City Ave.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Historic Tuscaloosa will conclude its 2022 Summer Lecture Series with a third and final installment at the Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion on Thursday, Aug. 25.

The free event will begin at 5:30 p.m., featuring Kelly Fitts and her lecture entitled “East Margin Avenue: Historic Homes.”

Previous topics included the preservation of Tuscaloosa's Greenwood Cemetery, in addition the Marquis de Lafayette's visit to Alabama in 1825.
The lecture, which is open to the public, will spotlight historic homes on what is now Queen City Avenue, which was once named Margin Street.
