Holt High Names Daniel Dickens As New Principal

Holt High School has announced a new principal after Luther Riley resigned from the position in February after eight months on the job.

HOLT, AL — Holt High School on Wednesday announced that Tuscaloosa County High School Assistant Principal Daniel Dickens has been hired as the school's new principal.

The announcement comes after former Principal Luther Riley resigned in late February after only eight months in the position, as Patch previously reported.

Dickens is a native of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and comes to Holt High after working as an assistant principal at TCHS since 2014.

Prior to his time at TCHS, he has also worked at Collins Riverside Middle School and Southern Academy.

Holt High School said he moved to Tuscaloosa in 2003 and finished his Ph.D. at The University of Alabama. Dickens received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Lee University.
