TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Department of Education this week released its third grade reading scores for the 2021-2022 school year, which highlights reading proficiency in the state's public schools.

The results reflect the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP) Summative Reading Subset test administered to Alabama third graders during the spring semester, which showed 78% of Alabama third graders are reading on or above grade level.
