Investigation Begins After One Killed In Lake View House Fire
One person was killed and at least one other injured in a house fire Tuesday afternoon in Lake View.

LAKE VIEW, AL — One person was killed and at least one other injured in a house fire Tuesday afternoon in Lake View that prompted a large, multi-agency response.

Lakeview Fire District officials said crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire with possible entrapments near Royal Drive, Allison Drive and Douglas Drive.

The fire district said six people were believed to have been inside the home at some point during the incident, with five of them later accounted for.
Fire crews that initially responded encountered heavy fire conditions at all egress points of the residence that reportedly complicated rescue efforts.

The fire district said ambulance crews treated victims at the scene and at least one individual was transported to a local hospital for medical care.
After firefighters gained control of the blaze, one deceased victim was recovered from the residence.
The individual killed in the fire has not been publicly identified at this time.
The Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office has responded to assist with the investigation into the cause and origin of the fatal fire.
Responding agencies also included Green Pond Fire & Rescue, Brookwood Fire Department, Antioch Volunteer Fire Department, McAdory Fire and the McCalla Fire District.
Law enforcement support was provided by the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Lake View Police Department.
The investigation of the fatal fire remains ongoing.
