Investigation Underway After Man Found Shot To Death Near Millport

MILLPORT, AL — A homicide investigation is underway after a Lamar County man was found shot to death Monday morning on Steedley Road near Millport.

District Attorney Andy Hamlin identified the man as Andrew Patrick Cunningham, 40, who was found by Lamar County Sheriff's deputies at his residence and pronounced dead at the scene.

No suspects or arrests have been announced and Hamlin said the investigation is ongoing.

“The investigators are working really hard to piece together what happened to Mr. Cunningham," Hamlin said. "If anyone has any information about Mr. Cunningham’s death, please contact my office or the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department."
