Jersey Mike's Coming To The Strip At Former Pita Pit Location

The sandwich franchise will soon open in the location of the now-closed Pita Pit on The Strip near the University of Alabama campus.

TUSCALOOSA, AL —University of Alabama students, Tuscaloosa residents and visitors will soon be able to grab a sandwich at the city's first Jersey Mike's Subs on University Boulevard, which will soon take the place of the now-closed Pita Pit location on University Boulevard.

According to the building permit issued by the the city of Tuscaloosa's urban development department, the new concept on The Strip will be the Manasquan, New Jersey-based sandwich chain and owned by Brandon, Mississippi native Bret Dunnaway.

Craig Construction is listed on the permit as the contractor for the project, with the full estimated value priced at $210,000.

The location will be the only Jersey Mike's in Tuscaloosa and the sandwich maker's 19th location statewide, with three in the Birmingham metro.
