As Patch has previously reported, Miles, 21, and 20-year-old Michael Lynn Davis of Charles County, Maryland are both charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Jamea Harris following a minor altercation on The Strip near the UA campus in the early morning hours Sunday.

Jannik also denied bond for Davis following Tuesday's hearing, where the defense for both men argued self defense, while the Tuscaloosa County District Attorney's Office insisted it was Davis who used a gun obtained from Miles to fire the fatal shot that killed Harris.

During Tuesday's hearing, the mothers of both men were in attendance and took the stand to lobby for the release of their sons.

Perhaps the biggest bombshell to be made public during Tuesday's proceedings came when investigators mentioned the names of Tide basketball players Brandon Miller and Jaden Bradley.

While Bradley was reportedly with Miles and Davis in the moments prior to the shooting, text messages confirmed that Miller brought the gun owned by Miles to the scene, before Miles told Davis where to find it.

The defense claims that Davis, Miles and others felt threatened following the altercation with the three occupants of Harris' Jeep, which led Miles to asking for the gun in the first place.

The Tuscaloosa County District Attorney's Office says Miller has not been charged in connection with the shooting.

And still, the DA's office cited testimony in saying that Davis acted as the belligerent in the fatal shooting, walking up to the vehicle with Miles' gun and firing the shot through the windshield that killed Harris — a 23-year-old mother of one.

Who shot first in the fatal incident is at the center of the case, along with questions over Miles' involvement in knowing his gun would be used by his childhood friend in the shooting.

The next court date for Miles and Davis is unclear at this time. The two remain in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond.
