Judges Announced For 51st Kentuck Festival Of The Arts

Kentuck Art Center on Friday officially announced Claudia Dreifus and Jeanine Taylor as judges for the 51st Kentuck Festival of the Arts.

NORTHPORT, AL — Kentuck Art Center on Friday officially announced Claudia Dreifus and Jeanine Taylor as judges for the 51st Kentuck Festival of the Arts on in October.

Judges will award a total of $7,000 to exhibiting artists, with the festival set for Oct. 15-16

Kentuck said judges will numerically score exhibiting artists based on quality, originality, design, composition, technique, and overall presentation.

Executive Director of Kentuck Art Center Amy Echols expressed her excitement for the upcoming festival.

"The Kentuck Festival strives every year to bring in top-level arts professionals and collectors for our artists," she said. "I am so grateful that Claudia Dreifus and Jeanine Taylor will be joining us this year."

Kentuck said of the two judges:

"Claudia Dreifus is an award-winning journalist who contributes regularly to The New York Times, The New York Review of Books, and Quanta. She is also a Columbia University professor, author, and avid art collector.
Jeanine Taylor is a creative entrepreneur whose business specializes in contemporary folk art. Jeanine Taylor Folk Art, as her gallery is known, was established in 1997 and has become a leading voice in the promotion and preservation of southern art and culture."
