In a statement issued through the athletic department, DeBoer said the decision came after looking closer into the circumstances surrounding Kirkpatrick's arrest last week.

"After gathering more information on the situation, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. will no longer be a part of our program. He did not live up to the standards and expectations that I have set for this team and our players," DeBoer said.

The statement marks a definitive end to Kirkpatrick's time with the Crimson Tide after DeBoer initially confirmed Monday that the junior defensive back was no longer participating with the team.

As Patch previously reported, Kirkpatrick, 20, was arrested Friday in Gadsden on misdemeanor charges of doxing and harassing communications.

Newly filed court documents obtained by Patch on Tuesday shed additional light on the allegations, which stem from an Oct. 20 Facebook post in which Kirkpatrick allegedly shared a photograph of a University of Alabama Police Department officer's family on his personal Facebook profile.

According to a deposition filed in Tuscaloosa County District Court, the photograph was accompanied by the question, "Dis him?"

The officer, who is identified as the complainant in the case, reportedly became concerned for the safety of himself, his wife and their two children after discovering the post.

Court documents indicate the officer had previously been involved in a November 2025 traffic stop involving Kirkpatrick on The Strip in Tuscaloosa, during which the football player allegedly fled from law enforcement.

Kirkpatrick was arrested following that incident and charged with three counts of reckless endangerment, attempting to elude law enforcement and speeding.

He was subsequently suspended for the remainder of Alabama's 2025 football season before being allowed to return to the team this year after receiving youthful offender status in the case.

The latest arrest prompted yet another suspension, with Kirkpatrick missing Alabama's 31-20 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Speaking Monday at the Monday Morning Quarterback Club in Birmingham, DeBoer acknowledged the situation but indicated he was still gathering information.

"He's not with us," DeBoer told reporters. "We have an expectation and standard in our program, and the team rules, and things that go along with that. There's still some details that I'm trying to understand, but it's enough to where we know that's not how we operate."

Tuesday's statement clarified Kirkpatrick's status, confirming that he would not return to the program.

Kirkpatrick, a Gadsden native, is the son of former Alabama All-American and NFL cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, who helped the Crimson Tide win national championships before embarking on a lengthy professional career.

Tuscaloosa criminal defense attorney Jason Neff, who represents Kirkpatrick, previously confirmed his involvement in the case to Patch but declined to comment further when contacted Monday.

Court records show Neff has filed requests for discovery in the two misdemeanor cases, seeking access to investigative materials and other evidence in the prosecution's possession.

Kirkpatrick's bond was set at $300 for each of the new charges and he was released shortly after being booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

Alabama enters its bye week before traveling to Baton Rouge to face LSU on Nov. 7.
